Whether you're headed to the bunny hill or to the double black diamond runs, we've got a ski slope for you. A ski vacation can be fun for everyone – even those non-skiers in your party. Our editors have chosen their favorite ski destinations, all of them offering a wide range of activities.

In addition to renting your skis, poles, and helmet – we recommend renting your first few times on the slopes – you'll need a lift ticket to get up the mountain. Check out your resort's website before you go; many offer money-saving ski-and-stay packages or multi-day lift tickets. If your travel dates are flexible, consider arriving mid-week for lower rates.

For the utmost in convenience, choose a ski-in ski-out lodge so you won’t have to schlep your equipment back and forth to the slopes every day. A little less expensive are nearby resorts that offer shuttle bus service to the ski areas.  If you're on a tight budget, you can find less expensive alternatives in nearby towns.

Don't ski? Don't sit out this vacation! Many resorts offer activities like snow tubing, snowshoeing, and even snowmobiling, as well as indoor swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, and full-service spas. Of course, hanging out in the lodge beside a roaring fire isn't a bad idea, either. Even before the sun goes down, your group can enjoy numerous après-ski options at nearby restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.
